S'more Bars

10.30.2013

I've been wanting to make S'more bars for quite some time now but I wanted to find the perfect recipe, that didn't have too many graham crackers! When I found this recipe online the photo that was provided made the bars look very thin and little, so when I made them myself I was a little scared to see how they would turn out. But thankfully they are very thick and big! The chocolate chips inside this bar makes it so delicious because they don't fully melt when baking so when you take a bit they just burst inside your mouth of chocolate gooeyness. This recipe is so easy to make and takes like ten minutes to make. Plus I love this recipe because you only need a few ingredients that are usually in everyone's pantry!
 Ingredients
1/2 cup butter; softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. of vanilla
1 1/3 cup flour
3/4 cup graham cracker crumps (maybe five rectangles)
1 tsp. of baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
4 1/1 oz. chocolate chips or three regular sized chocolate bars
2 cups mini marshmallows

Instructions
Preheat oven 350 degrees. Grease an 8 inch square baking pan. This recipe will make about ten squares/bars. Beat butter and sugars in a large bowl until light and a fluffy consistency. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. The gradually, add the flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking soda and salt. Mix until it is well blended. Press half the dough into the prepared pan. Then arrange the chocolate chips all over the dough, so it is covering the dough. Then pour marshmallows on top of that, then scatter bits of the remaining dough over the marshmallows. Bake 30-35 minutes or until lightly browned.

Pumpkin Nails

10.25.2013

Pumpkin nails, just for fall! Aren't these so cute? I found a lot of pumpkin designs on Pinterest so I just created one myself. All you need to do is paint a little circle of orange for the pumpkin I used dotting tools but you can use whatever you have. Then use a black or very dark brown for the stem, and your done! Its that simple. I placed a pumpkin on my ring finger and my thumb just to give it more color and to I wanted more than two pumpkins! If you create your own little version of these pumpkin nails or just fall/Halloween nails in general I'd love to see yours so feel free to provide the link down below or you can tag me on Instagram! Plus if you want to see more nail tutorials comment down below! :)

feels like fall

10.21.2013

I'm so excited the leaves around here are finally becoming a deep orange almost red color! It seems like everywhere I go I'm on the look out for any tree that is filled with red leaves, mostly because here in So-Cal it is very rare! However, I am very content with my yellow and brown leaves, because they are still beautiful. On a side note, notice my new blog design? I'm so excited about it, I have been wanting a new make over for quite some time now. This new layout is just more organized and clean. I wanted something with more of a warm and relaxing feel to it, and I think I have succeeded.

By the way, I am going to be adding a new feature to my blog. It is going to be a question and answer type idea. So on the side of my blog (coming very soon) there will be a little sign you can click on and ask away with as many questions as you like (kind of like a more personal email, so its easier to reach me)...regarding personal style, recipes, life in general, or beauty such as hair, make-up, and nails! Plus the really neat thing is that you never know if your question might be displayed up on my blog for me to answer! So if you have a fashion question for example, my goal is to make your question come alive with photos and my tips/thoughts in more depth. I hope this becomes something that all teenage girls can use and love and I hope this can be a positive little corner full of help and support regarding your questions. Feel free to comment below to share your own thoughts on this little new feature! :) I would love to hear from you.

Riley's Farm

10.17.2013 Riley's Farm, CA. USA

Over the weekend my family and I headed up to Riley's Farm and spent the day there. Riley's is a beautiful little farm up in the mountains and they are known for their apples. I always love going to visit little places that are local especially for the different seasons. The past two years we have made it a tradition to go during the fall! It was so gorgeous up there...the trees were turning all different colors for fall, which I loved seeing being in So-Cal we don't really have a "fall" season like Colorado or even Boston so Riley's was prefect. Plus the weather was sunny but really cold, so it felt like fall. Definitely a perfect day for boots and scarfs! At Riley's they have patches of grass everywhere so we decided to have a picnic which was so much fun. Picnics are always so peaceful and relaxing and are just the best in the mountains. They have the cutest little stores you can shop in and their bakery is to die for. I'm not a huge apple dessert person like, apple pies or a baked apple, or even apple pastries, so of course they had every kind of apple dessert you could think of. ha-ha. But they also had some amazing looking fried doughnuts, and pastries! I ended up ordering a pastry with vanilla cream filling and some powered sugar sprinkled on top. Oh my goodness that dessert was the best dessert I've ever had! The entire day was just so much fun and I'm so glad we made it up there this year!! :)

butterfinger cake

10.10.2013

A few weekends back I made this cake because we were going to have company over, and let me just say this cake was a big hit! Its ridiculously easy to make and it taste delicious. What I love about this cake is that the frosting is actually cool whip, so it doesn't taste as rich and filling. I've been on a baking kick lately so new and easy recipes always seem to catch my eye. Cake tends to be a little on the boring and original side for me so I loved being able to add a fun twist to the dessert, by adding condensed sweetened milk, caramel and Butterfinger candy.

 recipe
one box of chocolate cake, two Butterfinger candy bars, one 16oz of cool whip, and lastly one container of condensed sweetened milk. (you can also add chocolate chips in the cake-optional, I didn't just because I didn't have that ingredient in the house when I was making this dessert.)

                                                                        instructions
first you make the cake and then let cool for about a half an hour to let it sit. when the cake is done cooling poke little holes all around the cake, and then pour the condensed sweetened milk all over the cake. Let the cake be refrigerated for about 20 minutes, and then your ready to frost the cake with the cool whip and sprinkle the crushed Butterfinger candy, and you can drizzle the caramel syrup on top. EAT.

Lately I have been obsessed with maxi skirts because they are so comfy and perfect for the fall time weather. I received this adorable black maxi skirt from KENZdesigns, and I am in love with it. I could practically wear it everyday. Kenzie, the shop owner does beautiful sewing work, honestly I would have never known she sewed it herself...the skirt looks like she bought it brand new! So when you have a free moment go check out her shop via Etsy.
Isn't this scarf absolutely beautiful? I just adore the deep wine color of this scarf it is so perfect for the fall time! I am completely in love with it. I received it from, Created New and April, the shop owner, makes all these scarfs herself. She has been sewing for over fifteen years and believe me her scarfs show it! Her store is full of all different kind of scarfs with many colors to choose from and she also does custom made scarfs. Honestly what more can I say about her store and the products she sells, everything is beautifully made and sold at an affordable price! All of her scarfs are wonderful for the summer to fall transition. The material isn't very heavy and warm, which is my favorite kind because it's nice not to feel overloaded and bundled in the winter time. I highly recommend that you go visit her cute little store here.
