Top Ten Outfits of 2013

12.29.2013

Well here are the 2013 recaps, of my top ten favorites. This year has been so amazing, and it's so fun being able to look back on my old posts and see how I've changed along with my style and blog. This is my first recap, considering I've only been blogging for one year, and I loved putting this together! I've been reading other blogs and they keep saying how much their style has changed and how they have devolved new tastes for other styles. But this year I haven't seen much of a change, instead I've noticed how I've actually been able to create and find my own style. I'm so glad I decided to start doing outfit posts on my blog because I've been able to explore many fun places for photo shoots! I'm looking forward to the new year and to experience all the new opportunities it holds along with my fashion sense!

Merry Christmas

12.25.2013

Merry Christmas! I can not believe Christmas is here already, but I'm so glad it is. It's a time of laughter, and special moments with my family. I have been so blessed this year, I have so much to be grateful for. I am so thankful God sent his son to come on this earth to be born. As I read the story of Jesus's birth I learn something new every year or even think about the passage differently. Its like every year something new and exciting pops out at me, and says "Jenna, did you think about it this way?" So this year it just really touched me how the wisemen followed the star, and how they fulfilled their mission, which was to find baby Jesus. So as I was thinking about how they must have felt and exactly what was happening at the time, I loved how the wiseman didn't care what Joseph and Mary thought of them. They came for one purpose, to worship baby Jesus. They didn't care how they looked when they brought gifts, all that mattered to them was to see their King. I love this because that's what it should be about, being with the Lord and not caring what others might think of us. Worshiping, loving, and proclaiming that Jesus is Lord. Not only today do I want to remember this, but throughout my new year as well! I hope this touched you in someway, and I hope you have a Merry Christmas!

home for the holidays

12.21.2013

I am so happy the weekend is here! Saturday I was able to have a nice quiet, relaxing celebration with my grandma! I'm not able to see her very often because she lives a few hours away, so it was so nice being able to visit with her. Our day consisted of board games, Christmas movies, and a special dinner. It was the perfect way to start off my Christmas break! I survived my finals, and I am finally able to breath once again. I really felt like this year the test wasn't very hard, mostly because I was well prepared, but there's something about taking a long test that always freaks me out! My stress level is high and the pressure of receiving a high grade is always what I panic about. But I finished and this final is now behind me! I am also relieved to say that I completed all my homework for break, therefore I'm hoping my break will consists of nothing but enjoyable moments and relaxing nights!

Q + A / / how to tie a scarf many different ways

12.18.2013

Scarfs are one of my favorites during the fall and winter! There are so many ways to wear a scarf there are no rules, and so many options. But today I picked my top four favorites that I use all the time. They are so easy and I love changing it up sometimes!

1. the first one is called the slip knot. instead of giving a tutorial I thought it would be easier giving you the steps, because each example is just that easy. step one; fold the scarf in half. step two; wrap the scarf around the back of your back. step three; pull both ends of the scarf through the loop. step four; adjust the scarf so it feels comfortable. step five; leave the knot close to your neck, or you can pull it away for a loser fit.

2. the second example is called the four-in-hand. this is one of my all time favorite because it looks so cute and complicated but its really simple, anyone can do it. step one; fold the scarf in half and place it on the back of your neck with a loop on the side. step two; pull one of the ends through the loop. step three; twist the loop. step four; pull the other end of the scarf through the loop. step five; now just adjust the knot so that it fits perfectly and feels comfy.

3. the third one is the easiest of them all. its called the simple knot ends. I love this look because its so casual and gives it the cute effortless style. step one; take the end of your scarf and tie a knot at one end. step two; do the same thing to the other end, and just let both ends hang.

4. the last one is the one I wear the most and keeps me the warmest! this one is called the loose wrap. step one; put the scarf around your neck with the ends hanging in front. step two; wrap around one end over your neck so that it comes back hanging in front. step three; loosen the knot so that is becomes loose and so it flows.

lately

12.16.2013

I haven't done a "lately" post in a while, so I thought why not? I love being able to look back on my old posts and look at my photos and all that I did! So fun. Here are a few little things my life has been consisting of!

Loving: This winter season. The weather is so enjoyable this year, compared to last year when I remember it being freezing, and barely being able to keep warm. I am so excited for Christmas to come, its only nine days away- pure crazy! It literally feels like Thanksgiving just past.

Stressing Over: Finals! Its the week I panic and worry consistently if I've studied enough or know all the material. Nervous that I might freak out once I sit down to take the test and then everything becomes blank, and I forget everything. But I am determined to study hard, and pass. This week is going to be so busy, and I can't wait until it passes and I can breathe again!

Looking Forward to: Christmas break! Whoo-hoo, its only one week away. I can't wait until I can enjoy some relaxing time alone, and blog. Blogging and school are two things I'm still learning how to manage and have a schedule for. So over break I'm looking forward to an extra amount of time set aside just for blogging!! Also during break I'll be able to spend out with friends, and so many special  things planned. :)

Watching: Once Upon a Time. Ahh new favorite show ever. I have so many friends who kept talking about it, and trying to get me to watch it, but I never remembered it or even cared to look into it. But then the other day I saw it on Netflix and I had to see what it was all about. I'm so glad I did, because it is so interesting to watch. I love the whole modern/fairy tale spin on it. I have only seen episode one of season one, so over break I'm sure I will be watching many more!

Drinking: Okay Starbucks has the best holiday drinks ever! I've never really enjoyed peppermint until this year, so I'm totally in love with it! Plus during the season I just love warm hot chocolate.

baby it's cold outside

12.09.2013

The winter weather has finally kicked in. It's been freezing, and it finally is starting to feel like Christmas. We have been having fires every night and watching all the old Christmas movies. My home is all decorated for the holiday. Our tree is up, and I have finished all my Christmas shopping! Yes I am very happy it is all done. Last year I waited until the last minute and it was awful, so I was determined to not let that happen ever again. Lately, I've been able to pull out my warm coats and beanies! I've never liked beanies until this winter, and I'm so glad I tried them out. They are too cute and they keep me so warm! Up until this past week I've still be able to wear my capri's and light sweaters so I'm loving the cold! When it comes to fashion this is my favorite time of the year, because I love being all bundled up!
I can't believe how fast this month is going by. It literally seems like we were just beginning the fall season, and now Christmas. I have finals all next week, and I am counting down the days until my Christmas break starts. Finals always stress me out, and they take so much time preparing for. I can't wait until next week passes, I am desperately in need of a break!

8 ways to wear your boots, this fall

12.03.2013

I'm so excited to share with you today my very first remix archives post! Here are 8 different ways to wear your boots this fall, along with some tips.

1. Leather Jacket. In the fall time I love wearing jackets, but my favorite is leather. I think this just works really well because my boots are leather too.

2. Wear a dress with no leggings. This works because in the fall time its not too cold (well not in So-Cal), or too hot out to wear boots. I love wearing boots with my dresses instead of sandals sometimes so it gives it a whole new look.

3. Denim Jacket. I love my denim jacket and I swear I wear it everyday with every outfit. This is just a simple casual easy put together look.

4. Pencil Skirt. Boots with skirts are my favorite. I love heels and sandals but riding boots are so nice for the fall season and it changes up the whole outfit.

5. Long Sleeve Shirt. This is so casual and comfy. Perfect for a rainy fall day or lazy time hanging out with friends. Paring this with boots gives it an effortless look yet still adorable.

6. Wear a Sweater. This fall I have been loving my sweaters, which I've never really been into before. Brown boots are awesome with sweaters because they pretty much match with every color.

7. Add a Scarf. Scarfs save me during the fall and winter season. It keeps me so warm and its so comfy. Plus they add so much style to an everyday worn out tee shirt.

8. Dress with Leggings. Later in the fall season it becomes more cold and breezy so its so nice to be able to wear your dresses with leggings. I love my dresses but not all go with leggings so its nice to find the ones that match perfectly with leggings and tights so you are able to wear them literally all year round.

change

11.30.2013

Oh yes that's right I finally got up the nerve and cut off a few inches of my hair. I'm so happy I did, my hair looks so much healthier and its so nice to have a change. Now my hair doesn't look so thin and stringy but so healthy and clean. I decided against the burgundy highlights, mostly because I love being a blonde and I didn't want to regret it later. Having my hair short has been so easy to maintain and I love that it looks cute without having to put a lot of time into it. I do miss my long hair...only when I look at photos though, but I was ready for some change. I got so tired of just having a trim every time I went in and got a hair cut, so this time I wanted to try something new and have a different style. I feel so different and every time I look in the mirror its like a whole new me! I know my hair isn't really short, but compared to my long hair it is definitely shorter. Ah it feels so nice to have a little bit of change in my life even if its small!

giving thanks

11.28.2013

This year I have so much to be thankful for. I honestly don't even know where to start, my list is just too long! So here are a few things I am so grateful for this past year!

My friends and family. New and old. I don't know what I would do without them. This is pretty much on my list every year, but they mean the world to me and they are always there whenever I need them.

Lily, my Maltese puppy. She is just the cutest little thing, and I love her to death. I am a huge dog lover and she just makes my family complete.

♥  My dog job. It's been so nice to have my own little pay check to put in the savings or spend it on little things here and there. Its been so wonderful being able to bless other people with it who are in need also.

Education. This year I have been truly blessed by being able to be homeschooled and have an amazing education with the foundation of Christ. To have the guidance and support of my parents with my schooling this year has impacted me in so many ways. I am so grateful for the sacrifices my mom and dad have gone through for me and my sister with being able to take certain classes and yet still being able to homeschool.

Absolutely everything I have. Sometimes I take my material items for grantee, and I forget how many people don't even know when they are going to have their next meal, or sleep in a bed.

God's unchanging love. This year, one attribute of God has really touched me and stood out...his unchanging everlasting love. To know that the Lord is jealous for me and wants to have a relationship with a sinner like me, is just unfathomable. And I know its because of how much he loves me. I thank God for his grace and love for me every single day!

This blog. Through blogging I've been able to meet so many wonderful friends who are so encouraging and helpful. Even though I have never meet my blogger friends in person there is just this special bond because of being sisters in Christ and just through blogging in general. I love being able to write about my thoughts and share my life, and the whole blogosphere is so positive and supportive, I just love the community. Plus I've been able learn so much about fashion and lately I've been able to kind of switch over to the whole fashion posts on the blog. Way too much fun.

decisions...decisions

11.24.2013

Master's College? Biola University? California Baptist University? Azusa Pacific University? Dental School? The list of my options for college seems to be never ending. There are so many amazing University's out there and so many different majors to choose from. This past weekend I had the opportunity to head down to Biola University for the "University Day." We were able to stay there overnight in their dorms, take a campus tour, sit-in on classes, and eat in their cafeteria's, just like we would if we decided to go their for college. My time there was amazing. The campus was beautiful, the people were friendly, the classes made you excited, and the entire college was so focused on God. I felt so comfortable and totally happy. I loved how the campus was a good size but not too big where you feel completely lost and confused. So for me I really enjoyed that.

I am debating between majoring in Psychology so I would become a marriage and family therapist or becoming a dental hygienist which I would graduate with a degree in science!! Both majors provide two different worlds so I am going to explore both. If I decide on Psychology I would go to a university for that, but with dental I would go to a trade school/ Jr. college. So right now I'm really trying to look at all my options and the life and career each major would give me. The options seem to be never ending and right now my head is spinning with thoughts and ideas, concerns and problems! I know that God will show me the place where I need to be and that he has a plan for me. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I am an introvert. I have never been one to go out with friends everyday or every weekend, so I definitely love my space. Plus I have to recharge myself with alone time. So with that being said the whole dorm life has always scared me. I've never wanted to share a room, not have your own personal bathroom, or even be away from home. But at Biola I was so blessed with amazing room mates and my total view of the dorm life has completely changed. The entire floor was so friendly and the over-all community was like a tight knit family. I could really see myself living there and just being apart of the social atmosphere. It was amazing to experience what dorm life was like, not alt all what I had envisioned. Instead of being stuck in your room I got to see there were so many areas where I could get away. There are so many hidden places spread out around campus to go journal, sit by the fountain, have alone time, and to be able to study peacefully and quietly!!

At Biola I love the chapel mornings and worship nights. They had the most beautiful worship band that leads every Sunday night. Its just an amazing time to worship God. Its one of the things I loved about Biola, that is the Christ centered atmosphere. That's definitely something you won't be able to find at a public/secular college! I love that many University's that I'm looking into require bible credits before you graduate. I desire a college where sharing and talking about the Lord is seen and heard all around campus. I honestly don't think I could ever survive on a secular campus, with only a little people believing Jesus is Lord. So for me, I love the whole Christian and Christ centeredness at Biola, and hopefully at other University's as well, which I am hoping to visit more in the spring time!! :)

Hello lovelies! I hope your week has been going great so far. I know mine has, mostly because its my last week of school before Thanksgiving break, ha-ha. Anyways, did you guys see that I finally added my little new feature to the blog? Its called "Ask Away." This is a little button on the side of my blog that you can click and it will bring you to my page where you can ask questions and it will give you more information on what it is all about. So the over-all idea of Ask Away is, you asking certain questions, regarding anything...and I might consider to answer for a future Q & A post!! I'm super excited about it and I'm hoping this is a way to connect with my readers and just be able to be there for people and help them with whatever it is they ask me. I hope you find this to be a helpful tool and love using it. I had so much fun putting it all together so I can't wait to receive the first question! Also remember that even though I don't feature the question it will still be answered personally just not through a blog post. Thanks so much for supporting my blog without you I would not be able to do this and even enjoy blogging as much as i do. You make me want to become a better blogger everyday and just blog in general! All of my readers are just amazing, so thank you!
